The Ordinance was published in an extra edition of the D.O.U on 29/07/2020 CC-PR/MJSP/ MINFRA/MS NO. 1, which allowed foreigners to enter Brazil by air. Road and waterway borders remain closed for at least another 30 days.

The measure, in addition to encouraging tourism, helps national and international airlines to resume scheduling flights to/from Brazil.

The text emphasizes that passengers must comply with the immigration requirements appropriate to their condition, and those who are on a short-term trip to the country (up to 90 days), must present proof of the purchase of health insurance valid in Brazil and with coverage for the entire period of the trip to the carrier before boarding.

According to the ordinance, airports located in the States of Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraíba, Rondônia, Rio Grande do Sul and Tocantins are temporarily prohibited from receiving international flights (as a point of arrival in Brazil).
