Registration of Legal Entities at the TJRJ

Considering the publication of Notice No. 43/2020, which determined the registration of public and private companies in the Register of Legal Entities of the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro (“SISTCADPJ”), in order to receive citations and subpoenas, we recommend that, in order to comply with the said determination, the registration of Insurers with the SISTCADPJ of the TJRJ.

Registration must be made through the Insurance Company's Digital Legal Entity Certificate (e-CNPJ), requiring the submission of information and documents from the company and its legal representatives.

We also inform you that an e-mail must be indicated, in which the Insurers will now receive all subpoenas and citations related to their respective processes that are pending in the State of Rio de Janeiro. Therefore, we suggest that a specific email be created for this purpose, such as citacoeseintimacoes@xyz.com.br.

In any case, we emphasize the need for attorneys (external lawyers) to be immediately informed of any summons and/or subpoena received by the Insurance Company, since with the edition of Notice No. 53/2020, as of 01/07/2020, the provisions of the Joint Notice TJRJ/CGJ No. 05/2020 will take effect, which provides that subpoenas and subpoenas from public and private companies will be made exclusively electronically, under the terms of Law No. 11,419/2006, except for cases in which there is an express judicial determination to the contrary.

We reiterate the need to complete such registration, since its absence may make it impossible to file an electronic petition in the name of the Insurers.
